Digital Humanities Workstation

The Digital Humanities Workstation is a custom built workstation containing a collection of tools curated by the Transcriptions Lab.  We already have (most of) the hardware, and will be physically building the computer as well as collaboratively discussing the usage scenarios and tools that you would like to see addressed in this project.  As a DIY project, we are assembling this from scratch; the software will be built atop Linux, as we hope to create an open source design that can be replicated by humanities scholars anywhere.  In addition to building a concrete tool, we hope to have a productive discussion about what sort of tools are relevant to the humanities today, how we might go about increasing access and ease of use, and the role of open source in the collaborative humanities.
